Letter #22 "...get your knees a flexin' and your arms t-rex-in'..."

Dear SNL,
Thank you! Thank you for making me laugh. You have introduced many hilarious actors including Andy Samberg. I very much enjoy your SNL Digital Shorts. I don't really have much to say besides thank you for putting a smile on my face and making Calin and I laugh our socks off! I encourage all of my readers to watch SNL's most recent music video. If you don't laugh and watch it at least twice, there is something seriously wrong with you.

Letter #21Miracle Drug: "Something that can attain a euphoric state, such as an extremely delicious plate of fettucine alfredo" ~urbandictionary.com

Dear Indians who invented Lano-Pine (I don't think I am spelling that right...),

Thank you! Lano-Pine has been one of the greatest inventions of all time. Unfortunately, no one knows about it! Open your own medicine cabinet. What do you see? Neosporin or some sort of Wal-Mart brand antibiotic ointment? Lame... Those don't work half as good as Lano-Pine does. Thanks to my Grandpa Titensor my family was introduced to this miracle ointment. I wish I actually knew more of the history besides that it was learned from Indians. I don't even know how to make it. Russell went out with Grandpa once and I remember he had to take old panty hose and go up into the mountains. What is the importance of the panty hose? Maybe they wore them and danced around a fire. We'll never know. I hope to learn how to make Lano-Pine because I won't know what to do with out it.
When I say it works, I mean IT WORKS!!! Once my Grandpa was using a table saw and accidentally sawed off his finger. It was literally hanging by a piece of skin. Bypassing the ER, he slapped some Lano-Pine on a bandage and wrapped up his finger. Within a week or two he had a fully functional finger. Even today you cannot even see a scar. The reason I am so thankful for Lano-Pine today is because I had to use it yesterday. I stepped on a sewing needle (so much for being domestic). It went up into my big toe and I had to pull it out. Yuck! After sitting down and rocking back and forth in pain, I had Calin bring me the Lano-Pine. Today, you cannot even see where it went into my toe and it doesn't hurt one bit. Thank you Lano-Pine!

Letter #20 "...usually contains a lot of crap nobody wants, but also will have the occasional gem, such as a pair of nunchucks" ~urbandictionary.com

Dear Deseret Industries,
You are awesome! Thank you for providing Calin and I with hours of cheap entertainment. Thank you for my Christmas tree. Thank you for my R.L. Stine Fear Street books (NOT Goosebumps). I guess this would be a good time to admit my love for the Fear Street books. I have 55 of them, all bought at different DIs. Thank you for taking anything and everything people donate...wedding dresses, stained table clothes, old forks, ratty slippers, Richard Simmons Dancing to the Oldies... You have it all. I remember for a mutual activity, the young men and women went to the Centerville DI and helped sort items. My job was to bring books from the back and shelve them according to genre. By the time I was done my hands were literally black (books can get super duper dirty!) Thank you for a full soap dispenser in your restrooms. Thanks for a cheap date night or spontaneous clothes shopping. Our most recent trip went very well. Orange fraternity shirt $1, white ladies capris $3, grass-green Moo-Moo $3 and a new addition to my R.L Stine collection $0.75. A fun Saturday for only $7.75. Thanks DI for making me smile and laugh my pants off!

Letter #19 "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;" Ephesians 2:

Dear BYU 85th Ward,

Thank you! I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am for you. I was beginning to think that I would always dread going to church and eventually become inactive. The ward that Calin and I were going to before was dreadful. I have never felt so unwelcome, alone and sad in a ward. I don't want to focus too much on the negative so, thank you 85th Ward for being so welcoming. My first day in Relief Society, I was introduced, said the prayer and other people actually sat by me. It was great! I am terrified to say prayers out loud but, I am grateful for the chance to get out of my shell. Thank you for being so kind and for showing us where our Sunday school class was. Thank you for being so on the ball. I'm impressed that you even took our picture for the ward directory! You have accomplished more in one week than our previous ward did in 3 months. I was beaming all day because of the 85th ward. I think Calin was sick of hearing me talk about how great our new ward is :) I felt the spirit more this past week in our new ward than I have at our old ward (5 months combine!)Everyone is nice to each other and seem to genuinely care about you. Thank you. I can't wait to get to know you all!

Letter #18 "Grandma always made you feel she had been waiting to see just you all day and now the day was complete." ~Marcy DeMaree

Dear G-Ma,

Oh how I love you. You are my inspiration and my light. We have always had a special connection. I love coming to visit you. You always have a funny story to tell and food to feed me. Thank you. Thank you for caring about the little things that matter most to me. I loved looking through all of your jewelry and trying it on. Then one special day you gave me some earrings, bracelets and necklaces. I treasure them so much. I felt so special that you would give me those. Thank you for making me feel like a princess. Thank you for keeping our family together.
Thank you for the dozens of hangers you have made for me. Well, not the hangers themselves but the knitted stuff on the hangers to keep my nice sweaters and shirts from sliding off. They have been such a life saver! You are the perfect homemaker. Yummy food, welcoming home and crafty. Thank you for giving Calin and I our Christmas tree lights.
Thank you for asking me to help you with the Christmas village. I know you appreciate the help but, I love doing it more. It makes me feel needed. Thank you. I love the day after Thanksgiving because I get to come over and build a city. It really is a lot of fun and a tradition I'd like to continue for forever!
I hate not being able to come over every Sunday. Living in Provo has many disadvantages. I miss sitting in the living room catching up with you and the family. Even when I was little I wanted to hang out upstairs with the grown ups. I didn't understand most of the jokes or care much about what was being said but, I loved being a "big girl". Thank you for loving me so much. I love your hugs and kisses. I love you!

Letter #17 "Grandpas hold our tiny hands for just a little while, but our hearts forever." ~Author Unknown

Dear Snoop Dawg,

Yodel-a-he-who!!! I love you so much G-pa! I love hanging out with you and listening to you "yodel". You can always make me laugh! Thank you. Thank you for creating such a strong family bond. I love that all the siblings (your kids) visit every Sunday. I know a lot of people who have never even met their first cousins...it's so weird! Thank you for allowing us to all gather together every week mess up your basement, eat your ice cream and tear up your lawn. I appreciate your patience and love.
Thank you for taking me camping. You took Taylor and I on a lot of camping trips. My favorite was when we went to Vernal the day after I spent the night in the ER having casts put on both my arm and leg from falling out of your big tree. We stayed at a camp ground with a pool but I could never get in so you made other plans to entertain us. Thank you. You took us fishing and to a museum. I had a lot of fun!
Thank you for building the cabin. Besides Bountiful, I like to think that I grew up there, in the mountains at our beautiful family cabin.
Thank you for naming my mom Lisa Kaye and waking her up every morning by saying, "good morning Lisa Kaye!" classic! Now, for some reason, she despises hearing that. So, thank you for providing me a way to tease my mom. Thank you for giving her a "horse" every year for Christmas. You have an awesome sense if humor!
I remember when calin and I came to your house to put up the Christmas village and when we were backing out of your driving way you yelled for us to stop. I thought something was wrong with the car so I pulled back into the driveway and rolled down the window. You pointed at the tires and said, "you better get those tires looked at, they were moving backwards!" I laughed the whole way home. You have such a smart alec/sarcastic sense of humor-- just like me. I love you so much! Thanks for being my grandpa. I love you forever and always.

Letter #16 "In Mexico an air conditioner is called a politician because it makes a lot of noise but doesn't work very well." Len Deighton quotes

Dear President Obama and Joe Biden,
I know I poked fun with the title of this letter but, seriously, thank you.
Thank you for making it easier for college students to get pell grants. You have simplified the process to apply! Also, thank you for increasing the pell grant from $4050 to $5100. I am so relived to know that I can finish school without taking out loans or eating top ramen every night. Thank you! I'm am not too cool for school. Education is awesome!Gracias el presidente!

Letter #15 "I feel a very unusual sensation - if it is not indigestion, I think it must be gratitude." ~ Benjamin Disraeli

Dear Terea,
So, today as I was getting ready I was thinking about the day I received my endowments. Then I thought about when Calin and I were sealed in the temple and I kept picturing your face. That kind of sounds weird typing it out loud... What I am trying to say is thank you. Thank you for being there for me on 2 very special days. I really appreciate you and Jaron making the effort to be there for me. I love you guys.
I am grateful for you and your example. Thank you for marrying the love of your life in the temple and now for starting an eternal family with baby Hudson. I love reading your facebook status everyday. The cute updates on Hudson and your life as a wife and mother are uplifting. Thank you. I love you my beautiful cousin.

Letter #13 & #14 "Grandparents are there to help the child get into mischief they haven't thought of yet." ~Gene Perret

Dear Grandpa Titensor,

Thank you! I have so many happy memories because of you. When we lived in the basement apartment next door to you and grandma I remember waiting in the driveway for you to come home so that I could help grandpa on the farm. Thank you for letting a talkative little girl tag along to "help". Thank you for reading the Sunday funnies to me every week. You always read them with funny voices so, it was hard for me to understand what was going on but, I enjoyed it anyways. I think that it why reading the funnies is so much better now. Thank you for passing the funny bone to my dad. You two have the same exact humor. Lame dad jokes--that's what I call them :)

Thank you for going on two missions with grandma. Thank you for being such a great example. When you were on your second mission in Adelaide, Australia I missed you so much I named my puppy because of where you were. Now Addie (Adelaide) will always remind me of you and grandma and your great example to the family by serving a mission.

Thank you for raising my dad. You did a pretty good job :) Thank you for letting Kenzie burry all her dead hamsters in your back yard. Thank you for the traditions you have created for our family. Thank you for being an amazing grandpa. I love you!

Letter #13 Grandmas never run out of hugs or cookies. ~Author Unknown

Dear Grandma T,

I love you so much! Thank you for being so loving and caring. I know you always want the best for me. I remember when I was contemplating quitting college you were very adamant that I should stay in school. Although I took a semester or two off to work for the Utes and go to China, I kept your words with me and here I am, back in school. I thought it was so cool that my grandma was a school teacher. I remember visiting you a couple of times. I was young but i remember. It was the age that I still thought that teachers lived at the school so, seeing you at home and knowing you were a teacher was mind boggling. Thank you for getting an education and making a good career for yourself.

Thank you for being so creative. I love that you write poems. I love it even more that you are really good it at. I have such a creative family and it is because of you. You passed it to my dad and my dad passed it to Russ and Kenzie (too bad I didn't get it) but, I get to enjoy the blessing of everyone's talents. Thank you.

When you and Grandpa were on your first mission in Nebraska, you missed my baptism. I was sad you could not be there but, you sent me a little doll in the mail that said, "Although we are miles apart, our hearts will never part”" I still have that doll. It reminds me of you and that no matter where we are or how far apart we still have love and that keeps us together. Thank you for all your love and support. I love you!

Letter #12 "I am thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose." ~Woody Allen

Dear Sunday Funnies,

Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for being so reliable. It is often that I can’t on rely on when I’ll get something in the mail or if the maintenance man will actually show up on the day

that he said he’d come to fix our leaky faucet but, I can always count on the newspaper being delivered to my house and that it will have my funnies in it. Thank you.

Along with writing thank you letters I decided that every week Calin and I would pick our

favorite funny and put it up on the wall. It is something to look forward to—finding the perfect comic. Then, when I am having a not so good day I can look to my left (while on my bed) and read all the funnies and laugh all over again. I believe that laughter can also cure depression. Laugh everyday.

I don’t have a specific comic that I like best. My only requirement is that it should make me laugh and feel good about life. Thank you for accomplishing these things. I am looking forward to this next Sunday!

Although Calvin and Hobbs are no longer in the Sunday Funnies, here is my tribute to them because they can make me laugh the hardest (especially if they are playing calvinball!)

Letter #10 & #11 to my GREAT G&G Watts

Letter #10 "When I'd do something bad, my conscience would always ask, 'What would Grandma think?'...She taught me the good side, to act right, be polite"- Victor Thompson

Dear Great-Grandma Watts,

I miss you. You and Grandpa kept the family together. Since you've passed fewer are coming to our annual Labor Day weekend. We all miss you. Thank you for starting the Labor Day Tradition. It's all I know. Ever since I was born, I've never missed a year. Thank you for choosing the Nephi KOA. It was awesome! All of our family's RVs right in a row, a row of cabins and the tents right across, it was perfect. Thank you for your sweet kisses and hugs. Thank you for having the bean bag toss game. Thank you for having that freaky talking parrot at your house. It gave us loads of entertainment.

Thank you for marrying Grandpa in the temple and for making us an eternal family. I cant wait to see you again.

I remember the last time I saw you, you taught me a very important lesson. I think about it all the time. We were sitting on your couch in the rest home and you were telling me about how Donald took you to walk around the temple. All you wanted was to go inside the temple. It was all you could talk about. It made me realize what was important. Temple work. Even in your last days you wanted to attend the temple. Besides the temple, you said something that made so much sense. All my life I have heard stay on the straight and narrow, hold to the iron rod, etc... You were holding my hand and said, "stay on the track, the railroad tracks." I thought it was slightly humorous and didn't think much about it but, as I had to make choices growing up I thought about it a lot. I still think about it when making choices. Thank you for that. Thank you for keeping me on the railroad tracks. I love you. I miss you and I will see you again.

Letter #11"A Grandfather is someone with silver in his hair and gold in his heart"- Unknown

Dear Great-Grandpa,

How's my favorite man with a cane? Do you still need a cane in heaven? Even if you can get around without one, you should still carry it around. When I think about who you were, I always think of you whacking people with your cane. Not hard of course. Just a love tap.

Your cane was perfect for stopping me in my tracks and give you some love. You knew what what important, family. Thank you for being able to make me "stop and smell the flowers". Even if that meant an occasional bruise from a cane ;)

Thank you for your tour of your home town. We must have looked so silly. A line of 20+ cars driving down a small rundown town. A walkie talkie in each car to hear your stories. Most of the time we had no idea who you were talking about or why it was relevant but, it was fun.

Thank you for always remembering my name. I was one of the few of the great grand kids that you did remember and I meant a lot. Before McKenzie came along I was just plain Meghan. After I was hence known as "Big Meghan" and Kenzie was "Little Meghan" I guess it was easier to remember just one name. Thank you for remembering my name.

I miss you and I am excited for the day we see each other again. I hope you smack me with your cane, give me a big 'ol hug and say, "well, looky here, it's Big Meghan". Thank you for your great example. I love you.

Letter #9 "I am smiling because you are my brother. I am laughing because there is nothing you can do about it!" ~Unknown

Dear Brother,

I love you. Thank you for letting me hug you. Thank you for letting me tease you. I know you have the muscles to stop me but, it's nice when you don't. Thank you for having such a funny sense of humor. It's a lot more quiet these days but, still funny.

Thanks for letting me teach you dances when we were younger. If not for the home videos, no one would believe me you danced to Backstreet Boys with awesome choreography. I'm pretty sure we even did a dance to the 12 Days of Christmas.

Thank you for being your own person. I know you are going to do great things. You are so smart and talented. It still amazes me that you designed a website for the U of U. You were still in high school too! Thank you for accepting my husband into the family. It really means a lot to me. You are such a great brother.

Thank you for playing board games with me. I hate that you win Risk every time though :) How are you so good? Even though you always win whatever game we play, I love hanging out with you.

Thank you for being such a great artist. The picture of Elvis you did is amazing! I wish I was as creative and skilled as you. Thank you for being certified to marry people. It's so funny! I still laugh when I think about the time you first told us about it. We were eating dinner and you looked at me and said, " You know, I could marry you. Legally." We all stared at you thinking you meant you could be my husband. After a few awkward seconds you clarified and said you got a license online to legally marry couples. I laughed for a long time!! Thank you. I love you!

Letter #8 "Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll still be there." ~Amy Li

Dear Smooch,

Thank you for being such a great sister! I don’t really remember you as a baby but, little kid McKenzie was C-razy! You always did things I never dared to do. You have always been the brave one. Thank you for deciding to cut your own hair in mom’s salon and NOT mine. Although you resembled a caveman, you were still a cute little girl. Thank you for playing “McDonald’s” in the place house. Man, I made you pretend to be so many different people. Ordering at one window and moving to the next so I could hand it to you. You were such a trooper.

I don’t think it was until you were about 12 that we actually started becoming best friends. Before that we would fight all the time! I would tease you and you would chase me around the house with sharp objects…good times. Thank you for loving me today even though I teased you so bad.

Thank you for making good choices in your life. Thank you for being a good example to your friends and to ME. I may be the oldest but, I learn way more from you!

Thank you for being so funny! I love coming up to Bountiful to be with you because I know I am going to laugh my pants off. We have so much fun together whether we’re playing our ukulele’s, making up new words (Vaughngaburshnahey) or making prank phone calls (“there’s someone in the house…hurry!” ~crash~) Thank you for being so creative! You are so good with a camera! Keep it up..seriously, you are really good.

Thank you for being my best friend. I know I can tell you anything (and I have). I know that we are just going to be best friends forever BFF!!! I can’t wait until I have kids and you can come help me change diapers and wipe boogers! You are going to be the coolest aunt ever! Thank you for loving me. Thank you for taking care of my puppy while I am living in an apartment. Thanks for being Addie’s replacement mommy. I love you so much for that! Thank you for making me smile and thank you for always being there for me. I love you.

Letter #6 & #7- A life with out these things is no life at all

To the Inventor of Jeggings,

Although this Thank You may seem trivial, Jeggings make me happy. Thank you for taking the leggings and skinny jeans and making them into a work of art. Thank you for designing something that makes my butt look so good. Thank you for an affordable way to look sexy (according to my wonderful husband) and feel so good! I love that I can look dressed up in "jeans" and also be so comfortable. Thank you for your brilliant contribution to society. I love Jeggings!

To Dr. Pepper,

Do you really contain 23 flavors? You taste so yummy! Thank you being there for me when I need a cold one. I can't believe how many versions there are of you! Of course there is the original Dr. Pepper, then Diet DP, Caffeine Free DP, Diet Caffeine Free DP, DP Cherry, Cherry Vanilla DP (also comes in diet). Thank you for being the world's favorite soft drink. I can't believe that you first were introduced to the public in 1885!!! Too bad you didn't become famous until 1904 at the St. Louis World Fair. Regardless of where you came from and when, thank you.

Letter #5 "All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother." ~Abraham Lincoln

Dear Mom,

Good gracious child! Where to start? We have definitely had our ups and downs. It was inevitable for us to fight while I was growing up because we are the exact same person. Aside from the musical and weird sense of humor I inherited from dad, I got your stubbornness, leadership skills, outgoing personality, loud and maybe a little crazy genetics. Thank you! I love that I am my mother's daughter. Thank you for being my mom!

Thank you for teaching me how to swim when we lived in AZ. Thank you for signing me up for singing lessons. Thank you for being so supportive with all my choir and drama stuff. Thank you for staying up late and helping me sew my "towns person" outfit. Thank you for making an effort to have girls night with Kenzie and I. One of my favorite memories of girls night was when you took us to see The Proposal. You went to the bathroom as the opening trailers started and came back when the theater was dark. You forgot to pull the seat down and you totally missed the chair almost sitting on the sticky floor. Good thing you have amazing ab and leg muscles so that you a could catch yourself :). Thank you for making me laugh whether you meant to or not (especially when you say funny stuff, "so I says"). Thank you for dancing in the car. I am 99% positive your motives were strictly to embarrass your kids but, guess what? I thought it was awesome (I just didn't want you to know it).

Thank you for giving me educational and creative punishments. Although I am not a good writer, I owe what little skill I have to you. Remember when Terea, James, Russell and I snuck into the trailer up at the cabin. You specifically told us not to but we did anyways. You never would have found out because you and Andie were busy sun tanning on the deck. When I got my foot stuck in-between some bars in the trailer we knew we were in trouble. You came down and pride the bars open with your mother strength and then sentenced each of us to a separate room to write a story as punishment. I now realize you just wanted some peace and quiet and knew we would love spending hours coming up with stories. So brilliant. I am definitely going to use that with my kids.

Thank you for becoming my best friend. I know I can tell you anything and you will always love me. Thank you for all the times you've helped me out of a jam. Thank you for being so goal oriented and for being such a great example to me. Thank you for letting me move to China. It must have been weird to let your first born child fly away to a foreign land. Thank you for all the dinners you've sent home in tupperware that I rarely return. Thank you for being so cool about switching gears between "missionary mom" and "mother of the bride" so quickly. Thank you for helping me plan my wedding. I don't think I endured too much wedding stress because you kept taking it from me...thank you.

I love you with all my heart and I can't believe that I got such an amazing mother! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!

Letter #4 "He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it." ~Clarence Budington Kelland

Dear Dad,

I love you. Thank you for teaching me the important things in life. Thank you for helping me make wise decisions. I remember when I first moved out of the house in 2007, I didn’t realize how much I’d miss you. That’s why I came to your office almost every day. It wasn’t because I was already on campus or I needed a place to crash…I missed you. I think that is when we started becoming best friends. Growing up and during high school you were my dad-- the guy that stayed awake until I was home safe. Now you are much more. Thank you for your unconditional love. Thank you for still loving me when I would lie about doing my chores. Thank you for still loving me when I had my first boyfriend at 14. Thank you for still loving me when I got a tattoo. I know I can always rely on you.

Thank you for helping me do my taxes every year. This year is going to suck J Thank you for knowing all the answers to my computer and technological questions. I know it’s been a few months since we’ve done this but, I love singing and playing guitar with you. I love that we have something that we can share together. Thank you for the gift of your music. I remember while I was living in China you sent me a link to some of your songs you were working on. 10 seconds into 1234 I started to cry. I made Tammi and Erin listen to all your songs a million and one times. I have the coolest dad ever! Thank you for always supporting me. Thank you for your lame “dad jokes”. They always make me laugh whether I want to or not. Thank you for taking us on hiking, camping, driving, etc. adventures. We had some good ones!

Thank you for working so hard for our family. I think it’s safe to say that you work TOO hard J Thank you for taking chances and never giving up. Thank you for raising me in the Church. Thank you for having family scripture time and family prayer. Thank you for loving mom so much. I hope that Calin and I can be just as great as you too were as parents and people in general. I love you so much and I always will.
